In China, before the Song dynasty, jasmine flowers were exclusively reserved for the royal gardens. Since this period however a tradition of jasmine scented tea has developed. After their harvest, jasmine flowers are spread out on bamboo sieves where they blossom and release an intense fragrance during the noctural hours. The blossoms are then mixed with tea leaves which become imbued with their fine aroma ; this natural fusion creating a tea with a rounded liquor and a very floral aroma. |
